Services/Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, at your pace.

A warm, unhurried space that's all about you, in Winter Park and Orlando, and by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida.

Are you having a hard time handling something in your life right now? Could you use an expert opinion on what you're going through, or a non-judgmental ear that just listens? Would it help to have someone's full attention?

If any of that sounds like you, I'm glad you're here. Individual therapy may be what you've been looking for.

Who this is for

I see adults, with a special focus on women navigating anxiety, relationships, and heavy seasons. People come to me for anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships and boundaries, post-traumatic stress, and life transitions, like a move, a breakup, a new role, or a career that stopped fitting.

Maybe you keep circling the same problem and can't get out from under it, or this one thing has started pulling down other parts of your life. Maybe you don't know who you could trust with what you're really struggling with, and you need someone to listen to you, and to your feelings, for once. You might wish someone could help you understand why you feel the way you do.

Or maybe you're interested in therapy but can't picture how it would fit into your life, or you don't want to hand over control of the process. That's okay too. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to start.

What individual therapy looks like here

In individual therapy, you're my sole focus, and the work is about helping you define and reach your own goals. You get a say in how fast we go, which methods we use, how much feedback you get, and when your sessions happen. Every person comes in with different goals, so there's no single script. I tailor the work to you.

If trauma is part of the picture, our individual sessions are also where trauma recovery work happens, including EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. And when words aren't the easiest way in, we can use sand tray in an individual session.

Questions people ask before they start

Does going to therapy mean I'm weak?

Not at all. People who ask for help know themselves well enough to know when they need it, and that takes real strength. You already have strengths that have carried you before, and sometimes a season feels heavy enough that they're hard to reach. Together, we'll find those strengths and put them back to work.

Why not just talk to a friend?

A good friend can listen, and that matters. A therapist is trained to help you approach things in a new way, learn skills, gain perspective, and listen to yourself without judgment or expectation. Therapy is also confidential, so you never have to worry about it affecting a relationship later.

Why not just take medication?

Medication treats symptoms, and for many people it's genuinely helpful alongside therapy. On its own, though, it can't get to the root. Our work together looks at the patterns underneath and builds strategies that serve your goals.

How long will this take?

It depends on you, your goals, your commitment, and what brought you in. I'll never keep you longer than is helpful, and we'll set the pace together.

A little about me

I'm Cristina, and I'm the owner of Flourish. I built the practice around women's healing. I'm trained in trauma approaches like EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and I'm passionate about using expressive arts in healing, so if something heavier comes up along the way, we can make room for it right here. Reaching out can feel like the hardest part. I'd love to hear what's been going on for you.

Much of your growth happens between sessions, in the small things you practice in everyday life.

Questions

Common questions about individual therapy

What can individual therapy help with?

Anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, and the seasons that feel too heavy to carry alone. Every person comes in with different goals, so I shape the work around you.

Is individual therapy at Flourish focused on women?

Much of my work is with women, and I built the practice around women's healing. You'll find a warm, unhurried space where you don't have to explain the basics first.

Can I do therapy online?

Yes. I see clients in person in Winter Park or by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida, whichever feels most comfortable to you.

Do you take insurance?

Sessions are self-pay, $185 for 50 minutes, so insurance stays out of your care unless you choose to bring it in. If you'd like to, I can give you a superbill on request to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are welcome.

Why are sessions self-pay?

We're not on insurance panels, and that's on purpose. Paying privately means you choose your own therapist instead of picking from a network list. No mental health diagnosis goes to an insurer or onto your record, no insurer asks for your treatment plan or progress notes, and how long we work together is up to you and me. If you do use a superbill for out-of-network benefits, just know that submitting it shares the billing and diagnosis information on it with your insurer. Current fees and more detail are on rates & insurance.

How do I get started?

Request a 10-minute phone consultation through the client portal. Bring any questions you have, and we'll figure out together if this feels like the right fit.
